
Man who cooked Polish food at Michigan State Fair died of COVID-19

Thomas Skowronski and his family were iconic figures known to those who frequented the Michigan State Fair, an annual event held from 1849 to 2009 in Detroit.
His family owned and operated the event’s Famous Polish Kitchen from 1945 until the fair moved from its longtime location at 8 Mile and Woodward in Detroit in 2009.
Skowronski, 78, died in November at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights, as a result of COVID-19.
