Deli classics, household recipes on the menu at Manasquan’s new Off Middle Meals Provide

For practically 50 years, Howard and Linda McKeon ran their household deli, Middle Meals Market, on Principal Road in Manasquan.

They closed the market and retired in 2021, a 12 months into the pandemic.

In the meantime, work had slowed for his or her son Chris McKeon, a touring musician. Having labored in his mother and father’ deli, he knew that folks cherished the meals — and he knew the right way to make it.

So he determined to open a spot of his personal.

“It was necessary to me that we carried on the legacy,” he mentioned.

Greg Mudge, owner of famed Mudgie’s Deli in Corktown, dies at age 46

Known to the community as a caring and hard-working Detroit business owner, Mudgie’s Deli owner Greg Mudge, 46, died early Sunday, Sept, 5, 2021. 

The cause of death was not immediately known, but his mother, Sandy Pressley, said it was unexpected and not COVID-19 related.

“Everybody loved him,” said Pressley, adding that Mudge had recently had a good health checkup and was preparing to take a few days off from the restaurant to go camping with his wife, Liza Pulgini.

5 more restaurants join Canter’s Deli at San Jose’s DoorDash Kitchens

Canter’s Deli was just the start.

The DoorDash Kitchens at San Jose’s Oakridge Mall now makes food from five other restaurant menus — Aria Korean Street Food, Milk Bar, Curry Up Now, the Melt Express and YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea — at a prominent location for both delivery and pickup.

The pop-up will be open through November.

LA’s famed Canter’s Deli is now delivering on the Peninsula

The famous Los Angeles-area 24-hour Jewish delicatessen, Canter’s Deli, which has locations in Pasadena, Santa Monica, and its flagship on Fairfax Avenue in LA, is now serving its iconic food here in the Bay Area thanks to a new partnership with DoorDash. You can now get some of the deli’s favorite dishes delivered to cities on the peninsula from the DoorDash Kitchen in Redwood City.

New Flint area deli offering free sweet tea for a year to first 100 customers

FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI — A southern-based leading fast casual chain is planning to open its doors in Genesee County with handcrafted sandwiches, always-fresh salads, giant stuffed spuds, and famous sweet tea.

Chompie’s family to open a new Phoenix restaurant, bakery and deli

Since 1979, the Borenstein family has been bringing metro Phoenix diners a taste of the Big Apple at their chain of New York-inspired restaurants and delis called Chompie’s. Now the family-owned business is expanding with a new location expected to open this summer. 

Chompie’s Deli, Bakery and Restaurant is set to open its doors at 3212 E. Cactus Road in Phoenix, about a mile from the Borenstein family’s original restaurant Chompie’s Bagel Factory. 

The concept will include a market, bakery, coffee bar and full-service restaurant. It’s being brought to life with help from JRI Hospitality, which became an investment
