Famous Dave’s and Cowboy Jack’s are merging in Woodbury

Famous Dave’s is closing its Woodbury location and joining forces with Cowboy Jack’s, opening a dual-branded restaurant in the Cowboy Jack’s space.
Jeff Crivello, CEO of BBQ Holdings, which owns Famous Dave’s, confirmed to Bring Me The News on April 2 that Famous Dave’s is moving its Woodbury location “down the street to the Cowboy Jack’s building.”
“We have a great relationship with Cowboy Jack’s team and look forward to partnering on this opportunity,” Crivello said.
Famous Dave’s current location on Donegal Drive is closing at the end of the month and the property has been sold, the Pioneer Press says. At the end of May, the dual-concept restaurant called Cowboy Jack’s and Famous Dave’s will open at Cowboy Jack’s at 1690 Woodlane Drive, which is a larger space.
They’ll be combining their menus, with the most popular items from both brands being offered, Al Hank, Famous Dave’s chief operations officer, told the paper.
About 85{431c92db2ef93c421a350be785d244bd702e2c73a34f2b6f60cd8fd62b61507d} of Famous Dave’s menu will remain and they’ll consolidate duplicate menu items like French fries. The beverage menu will include more offerings from Cowboy Jack’s, and daily specials the restaurant/bar is known for will continue.
Bring Me The News has reached out to Minneapolis-based After Midnight Group, the company that owns Cowboy Jack’s, for further comment.
This isn’t the first time Famous Dave’s has opened a dual-branded restaurant. Last summer, Famous Dave’s teamed up with Texas T-Bone Steakhouse to open a restaurant in Colorado.
And earlier this year, Famous Dave’s announced it is working on a line-service restaurant called Famous Dave’s Quick-Que, which is slated to open in Coon Rapids in September.
These are among Famous Dave’s and BBQ Holding’s newer initiatives to innovate and evolve the barbecue brand.
