Palmerston North residents are full of ideas about the food and drink options they would like to see available at the Victoria Esplanade.

The city council is asking for feedback on its review of the hospitality arrangements at the park, and has prompted plenty of chatter on social media.

At the moment, the Esplanade Cafe is the only place where food and drinks can be sold, other than at council-approved events, and there are restrictions on its opening hours.

For Westhope, a newspaper and coffee shop combo has been cool beans

Turns out, he had to buy a newspaper to make it happen.

“There was never a place in Westhope that would work for that. So, all of a sudden, the newspaper came up for sale, and I came up here and talked to (owner) Ginny (Heth) about it and looked at the building and figured that we could make it work with both of them,” Cartwright said.

Ricotta toast topped with blistered tomatoes, vegetarian muffaletta and fried chicken paillard are on the opening menu at Town Fare, Tanya Holland’s newly opened veggie-focused cafe at the Oakland Museum of California.

Oretha Castle Haley sees new growth with La Vie En Rose Cafe

The new coffee house in front of the neon studio has its name in lights.

La Vie En Rose Café, a colorful coffee and pastry shop, has moved into a space at 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. and will officially open the doors of their new location on June 22.

Starbucks to open campus location in July

Fans of venti iced skinny hazelnut macchiatos with sugar-free syrup, an extra shot, light ice and no whip can look forward to the opening of a Starbucks location on campus in July.

The Starbucks will open in Steeped, located in the Life Sciences Building. It will be owned and operated by Utah State University Dining Services and will include the full line of Starbucks products, as well as specialized pastries from Dining Services’ in-house bakery. Steeped will be renamed to Steeped: Proudly Serving Starbucks Coffee.
