Beaver County restaurants look to rebound from a tough year

Get Out: To Rochester for new sit-down BBQ and lounge

Next weekend, lovers of live music will flock to the outdoor tents at the Grand Valley Inn, ready to smile and groove, socially distanced, to the sounds of ’80s party band Ridgemont High.

Beatles, Elvis, Motown and soul music tribute acts will follow in the next several months on that same stage outside the Fallston dining spot hailed as “Best Overall Restaurant” the past three years in The Times’ Best of The Valley readers’ poll.

The heated party tents were a new addition last year, as the Grand Valley scrambled for a way to make revenue, with COVID-19 spawned state mandates limiting indoor dining capacity.

Like other Beaver County restaurants, the Grand Valley was forced to adapt, and now will take those lessons forward as coronavirus vaccinations continue pointing a way toward something that feels more like normalcy.
